Editorial Policy

Our commitment to accuracy, completeness, and timeliness guides every tender listing on TendersMW.

Editorial Independence

TendersMW operates independently from all procuring entities, government ministries, and development organizations. We are not affiliated with the PPDA, any government ministry, or any international development agency.

No procuring entity can pay for preferential placement, the removal of tender listings, or any modification to how their procurement notices are displayed. All tender data is sourced directly from official public portals.

Data Verification Process

Every tender listing on TendersMW goes through a structured verification process:

Source Collection

Tender notices are collected from official procurement portals (PPDA, MANEPS, World Bank, AfDB, EU TED, UNGM) using automated scrapers that run multiple times daily.

Data Extraction

Key fields are extracted: title, procuring entity, reference number, closing date, category, and any attached documents. Data is normalized into a consistent format.

Categorization

Tenders are automatically categorized (goods, works, consulting, technology, services, health, agriculture, education, energy, transport) based on title analysis and procurement method.

Quality Check

Each listing is assigned a quality score based on data completeness (title, entity, reference, dates, documents). Low-quality listings are flagged for review.

Publication

Verified tenders are published with source attribution, direct links to original documents, and a clear "View on Source" link back to the official portal.

What We Display

For each tender, we aim to present:

  • ✓ Tender title and description as published by the procuring entity
  • ✓ Procuring entity name and type (government, parastatal, international organization)
  • ✓ Reference number for easy identification
  • ✓ Published date and closing date with countdown
  • ✓ Category classification and procurement method
  • ✓ Links to original documents (PDFs, bid forms) when available
  • ✓ Source attribution with direct link to the original portal listing

Accuracy & Limitations

We strive for accuracy, but we want to be transparent about limitations:

  • ● Data freshness: There may be a short delay between when a tender is published on the source portal and when it appears on TendersMW.
  • ● Amendments: Procuring entities may issue addenda or extend deadlines after initial publication. Always check the source portal for the latest information.
  • ● Newspaper tenders: Some Malawian entities publish tenders only in print newspapers. These are not currently captured by our system.
  • ● Always verify: Bidders should always verify all details directly with the procuring entity before submitting a bid.

Corrections & Updates

If you believe any tender information on TendersMW is incorrect, outdated, or misleading, please contact us at contact@tendersmw.com with "Correction" in the subject line.

Include the tender URL or reference number and the information you believe is inaccurate. We will review and update within 2 business days.
